Whether the village is leasehold, strata or rental the day to day running of a retirement village is a complex and challenging process that requires expertise in many areas. A village manager needs to be an expert in juggling the needs and wellbeing of staff, residents and their families.  Also various resident committees and the owner/investor need to be considered. 

Operation areas also include food service, health and emergency issues, staffing management and regulatory compliance.

Then there is the overseeing of daily financial management of the village that could include such items as budget preparation, cash flow management, payment of accounts, receipting of income and preparing monthly financial reports.

The physical assets of a village have to be managed too - the upkeep and maintenance of homes, grounds and facilities.
